204 Madore St, Silver Lake, Kansas
We are a Grace-filled community living out the rules of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism: “Do no harm. Do good. Stay in love with God.”
Your first Sunday
Come as you are. Bring the kids.

Worship at 10:30
Adult Sunday School starts at 9:30. Worship is at 10:30. Stay after for Fellowship Time at 11:30.
Wiggles welcome
God put the wiggle in children, so you never have to hush it in God's house. Each Sunday the kids come down front for a Children's Message. A nursery is open during worship for birth through preschool, run by volunteers trained through Safe Gatherings.
Watch from home
Every Sunday service streams live on our Facebook page. Live videos stay up for 30 days, and past sermons are on YouTube.

This November
Gratitude That Changes Everything
Gratitude begins with noticing. Join us each Sunday in November.

Our mission
Embrace. Engage. Extend.
The three words around our seal are the mission of this church.
Embrace
We embrace God and our neighbor. Like the Good Samaritan, we count anyone in need as our neighbor.
Engage
We engage with others to connect and grow. We are meant to live in fellowship with one another.
Extend
We extend God's love by serving others, with kindness, food, support and prayer.
“As disciples of Jesus Christ, we have the opportunity to make a difference!”
Ministries
A place for every generation.
Homebuilders Sunday School
Our adult class meets every Sunday morning at 9:30.
Wednesday Men's Coffee
Every Wednesday at 8:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Conversation, jokes and stories. Once a month the group meets for breakfast at a local restaurant or in Dover. Anyone can join at any time.
United Methodist Women
Local and global outreach, plus purchases that ease the church budget. Their events include pies for Harvest Home and the garage sale.
Youth Group
Midweek Mingle, yoga, and service for the church and the community. Bigger gatherings through the year include a mission trip, a Halloween grill out and movie night, and lock-ins.
Children's Ministry
A Children's Message every Sunday and a nursery for little ones during worship.
Christian Caring Cooks
Home-cooked meals and a note of encouragement for families facing illness, grief, a new baby or recovery.
Care Team
Church volunteers who care for, encourage and support one another. The team meets the first Sunday of every month.

Harvest Home
A fall tradition since 1926
It started with the farm families of Silver Lake. Just before Thanksgiving, church members gathered for a noon meal and a bazaar to give thanks for the end of the harvest.
In 1931 it became an evening dinner open to the whole community. In 1970 a lunch was added, at first to feed the women cooking the dinner. Word got out, people started coming, and the lunch became part of the celebration.
Call for this year's Harvest Home
Meet the pastor
Pastor Sandra Fatuma
Pastor Sandra began serving Silver Lake in July 2026. She also serves Rossville United Methodist Church and is pursuing her Master of Divinity at Perkins School of Theology. Her passion is preaching, pastoral care, and helping congregations live out their faith in their communities.
“My prayer is that together we will continue to be a church that reflects Christ's love in Silver Lake and beyond.”

Pat and Ande Brewster, Building Coordinators.
Brenda Ackerly, Church Custodian.
